Dr. Hermann practices Medical Nutrition that is based on scientific research. Many trend diets do more harm than good. The field of nutrition encompasses not only food, but also herbal supplements and exercise. Dr. Hermann gives lectures for both physicians and patients on topics such as ‘Dietary Modification for Cholesterol Reduction’, 'Vitamins for people over 55', 'Nutrition for Women' and ‘Progesterone, Natural Herbal Product or Prescription Drug’. Dr. Hermann is a strong supporter of research in this field and has indeed been interviewed in magazines and newspapers, including the New York Times and the Miami Herald for her research on natural products. Her research has exposed potentially harmful over-the-counter products. Because of her research, the FDA is investigating one of the products that she studied, a natural progesterone cream. Dr. Hermann provides specific nutrition advice for cancer, pregnancy, heart disease, cholesterol, hypertension, and diabetes.

Dr. Hermann has advanced training in Bariatric Medicine, the medicine of weight loss. She provides a comprehensive weight loss program that includes nutritional counseling, behavioral therapy and medical supervision. She does prescribe medications for weight loss if indicated.
She is a provider of Optifast and Bariatrix food products, but can also help people loose weight without any pharmaceutical or food products. Each treatment is tailored to the individual's requirements. As a weight loss physician, Dr. Hermann also manages cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease. Lifestyle changes are difficult to make. Her multifaceted approach helps patients keep excess weight off.
